Eleventh Annual Capstone Fair at Marlboro College Graduate Center, July 11
BRATTLEBORO, VT -- (June 22, 2009) -- The Marlboro College Graduate Center invites the public to its Eleventh Annual Capstone Project Fair on Saturday, July 11 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
This fair will feature projects by students from the Master of Science programs in Information Technology and Internet Engineering, and the Master of Arts program in Teaching with Technology. The projects range from websites for an engaging variety of schools and nonprofits, to entrepreneurial business plans and information technology upgrade plans.
The Capstone is the culmination of a master's degree student's course of study. While it is similar to a master's thesis, the goal of the Capstone is to solve a real problem for a real organization. For many, Capstone Projects are actual, working developments that will be applied by the student's employer or will be used to launch a new business by the student.
Visitors are encouraged to talk with the students about their projects and to critique them, providing the future graduates with objective, supportive feedback that will lead to further refinements.
The Capstone Project Fair is free of charge and will take place at Marlboro College Graduate Center, 28 Vernon Street next to the Brattleboro Art Museum, between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Refreshments will be served.
Marlboro also offers degrees such as the MBA in Managing for Sustainability, the MSM in Health Care Administration, several part-time certification programs and an online Bachelors degree completion program in managing information systems. All graduate level courses take place at the Marlboro College Graduate Center, located at 28 Vernon Street in downtown Brattleboro. Classes meet in weekly or monthly formats with an online component to make it convenient for working adults.
